New Heaven and Earth

Revelation 21:1-5 New International Version (NIV)

A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Scars

Scars Toby Mac

No, no
Yeah I’m
Just beepin’ right now
I gotta go
Hey

Had you on my mind
Had a little time
Know we kinda overdue
Turnin’ back the pages
To our younger days, yeah
I can still imagine you

Boomin’ like a thunder
Chasin’ life with wonder
With fire that could light a room
Bottom kinda fell out
Waited for the rebound
But you never made a move

When life cuts so deep
Try and remember

You are not alone
We’ve all been there
Scars come with livin’
You are not alone
We’ve all been there (been there, been there, oh), oh
So lift your head, lift your head
Lift your head to where your help comes from

Life ain’t got no sequel
We all broken people
The only road to found is lost
Oversimplifyin’
Ain’t no shame in tryin’
Passion never counts the cost

Now you won’t take my phone calls
You won’t text me back at all
I just wanna see you
I can’t stand to see you gone
Yesterday I missed you
Yesterday I played your song
I’m oversimplifyin’, I’m oversimplifyin’

It doesn’t matter who you are
This world gon’ leave some battle scars

Psalm 121

My Help

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Missed Well

Law.. said “If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God, it will make in the end no difference what you have chosen instead.” Those are hard words to take. Will it really make no difference whether it was women or patriotism, cocaine or art, whisky or a seat in the Cabinet, money or science? Well, surely no difference that matters. We shall have missed the end for which we are formed and rejected the only thing that satisfies. Does it matter to a man dying in a desert by which choice of route he missed the only well?

Promised Land Zach Williams

I left my ball and chain behind me
Every burden, every weight
I changed my name to freedom
From prisoner and slave
Stood up to my oppressors
Shook the shackles off my hands
I’m going down to the Promised Land
I’m dusting off the desert
I’m silencing my doubt
The one who goes before me
Is the one who leads me out
With fire in the darkness
With footprints in the sand
I’m going down to the Promised Land
I’m not just getting out of Egypt
Egypt’s getting out of me
I can see those walls of Jericho
In pieces at my feet
I can taste that milk and honey
From the wilderness I am
Going down, down, down to the Promised Land
